Are you passionate about supporting local food and fostering community connections? Our chapter will be volunteering at the Virginia Highlands Farmers Market (VHFM) on Sunday, June 14. The mission of the VHFM is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community hub where local producers ignite engagement and empowerment, and where residents and visitors can connect with Atlanta’s premier farmers and fresh food.
We have three different opportunities to help out.
- Market Setup 7:00-8:30 a.m. (3 slots)
Setup will include assisting vendors with putting up tents, unloading vehicles, and setting up booths. Volunteers can also assist the Market Manager and VHDA staff with other market opening tasks. - Information Booth: 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (1 slot)
Info Booth volunteers will man the VHFM booth during the market's operating hours. They will be expected to greet customers, answer questions, and assist the Market Manager with tasks if needed. - Market Breakdown: 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. (3 slots)
Break down includes assisting vendors with putting away tents and booth setups, as well as helping carry products to the vendors' cars. Volunteers may also be asked to assist the Market Manager with additional breakdown tasks.
